Tabletop Scribes Deserve a Promotion
Scribes translate debate into durable artifacts. Without them, tabletops become performance art. Assign scribes early, protect their airtime, and rotate the role so it is not always the junior analyst.
We coach scribes to capture decisions, disagreements, and deferred items explicitly. Deferred items need owners and dates, even if the date is a review checkpoint rather than a delivery promise.
Audio fidelity matters less than structure. Use a template with sections for scenario, decisions, evidence links, and follow-ups. If your SIEM supports saved views, link those views rather than pasting screenshots that rot.
Finally, schedule a short internal approval pass for sensitive outcomes. Stakeholder sign-off should be lightweight—names, timestamps, and scope—not a separate project.
