Alert Triage
Alert Triage Intensive: Queue Physics
Program narrative
We model arrival rates, rework loops, and noisy detections as operational variables. You will redesign a sample queue with cohort peers, then stress-test it against a scripted surge. The goal is calmer rotations and clearer definitions of “done” for each alert class.
What is included
- Queue instrumentation worksheet
- Pairing scripts for shadow shifts
- Noise taxonomy you can paste into tickets
- Synthetic surge replay with metrics
- Stakeholder sign-off template for backlog cuts
- Lightweight RACI for on-call rotations
Outcomes you can evidence
- Publish a single-page queue health brief weekly
- Identify two chronic noise families with proposed tuning owners
- Adopt a shared definition of triage complete
Course questions
No. Analysts and leads both benefit. Managers gain vocabulary; analysts gain agency to propose concrete queue edits.
Cohort voices
The surge replay felt closer to reality than most tabletop PDFs. I disagreed with one scoring rubric—and the instructors welcomed it.
